Knock Knock Children’s Museum is proud to be a community partner with Serve Louisiana. As we prepared to open in 2017, we wanted to add a smart, energetic young leader to our initial startup team. Serve Louisiana provided us with a wonderfully talented member.
Katie, our first member, was an essential asset to the startup team. Working closely with our first project director, board members and volunteers, she helped open the museum’s doors of learning to the children and families of our community. After we opened in August 2017, she worked to create and organize program planning for our Art Garden Learning Zone, which continues to be a hands-on exhibit favorite. She has become the heart and soul behind Knock Knock’s art program.
We gained an official full-time staff member! Katie continues to work tirelessly to deliver creative lessons and hone her teaching skills to provide creative instruction to thousands of children each week. Truly, much of Knock Knock’s success is due to Katie’s vision and hard work — and we thank Serve Louisiana for helping connect us to her. We urge other nonprofits to explore the possibilities and resources that Serve Louisiana can offer their organizations.
